(But you also already know that you can do so, regarding any subject, anytime.) <BR/><BR/>Anyway: I find myself wondering-- if, on the one hand, at that end of the political continuum that(quite rightly) makes you shudder...<BR/><BR/>you have the wackier elements of religious right, who insist on ideological purity...<BR/><BR/>are you suggesting that gays <B>have</B> to accept what may seem like even the <B>merest sliver,</B> of what may suggest a chance that a SCOTUS nominee might, just might, be occasionally reasonable, in some areas?<BR/><BR/>I'm <B>not</B> being a smart-aleck. I've asked myself the same question too, not so much in the context of gay rights but in the broader context, insofar as we can't exactly force George, Jr and company to forgo another SCOTUS appointment until late January of 2009.(And if GWB <I>does</I> get impeached or resign, would we prefer a Cheney appointee? I wouldn't.
